Rosehill Gardens Racecourse sits on James Ruse Drive in Rosehill, within the Parramatta LGA roughly 22 kilometres west of Sydney CBD. Owned and operated by the Australian Turf Club (ATC), Rosehill is one of the country's two premier metropolitan racecourses (the other being Royal Randwick), and home to the world's richest two-year-old race — the Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes, run each year in late March or early April. The Golden Slipper Carnival across March–April is Sydney's biggest autumn racing carnival and draws six-figure crowds.
