Pickup at P7
Pre-booked private transfers collect from the P7 Pickup Building (NOT the kerbside taxi rank). P7 is signposted from the T1 Arrivals Hall — about a 4-minute walk.
1 hour free wait
After your flight lands, you get 1 hour of free waiting time before any extra charges. Plenty of buffer for immigration queues, baggage and customs declarations.

P7 — Pickup Building
Exit T1 Arrivals on the ground floor and follow signs to P7. P7 is the dedicated pre-booked transfer zone — separate from the taxi rank (P1–P5) and rideshare zone.
Driver Calls You
Switch your phone on once you’ve cleared customs. Your assigned driver will personally call you with their exact location, vehicle make, colour and rego.
Free Airport WiFi
T1 has free unlimited WiFi throughout the terminal — international travellers without roaming can use call to coordinate without any data charges.
International Departure & Arrival Tips
- Arrive 3 hours early for international departures (3.5 hours during Christmas, Easter and July school holidays).
- Liquids over 100ml not permitted in carry-on through international security — pack them in checked bags or buy after security.
- Departure cards are no longer required for Australian or NZ citizens — but international visitors should keep their passport handy at e-Gates.
- SmartGate is available for Australian, NZ, UK, US, Canadian, Singaporean, Swiss and Irish passport holders aged 16+ — usually halves immigration wait time.
- Currency exchange is available pre-security and airside, but rates are noticeably worse than CBD branches — withdraw at home or use a multi-currency card where possible.
- T1 ↔ T2/T3 free shuttle runs every 10 minutes if you have a domestic connection. Allow 30 minutes between landing T1 and boarding domestic.

No — T1 is on the opposite side of the runway from the domestic terminals. Use the free T-Bus shuttle (10 minutes), the paid Sydney Airport train (one stop, $7.65 station access fee), or a fixed-fare private transfer.
