The Sydney Royal Easter Show is one of Australia's largest annual events — a 12-day celebration of agriculture, food, fashion, fireworks, livestock, showbags and rides held each year at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park. Run by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW since 1823, the Show draws over 800,000 visitors across its run, peaking on the Easter long weekend and the opening Saturday. The 2026 Easter Show runs from Thursday 26 March to Monday 6 April. Prime Rider Shuttle's Royal Easter Show transfer service is a fixed-fare, door-to-door private transfer designed for families heading to and from the Show — and built to avoid the Uber surge spike that hits every fireworks-night exit.
Getting There — M4 Motorway and Homebush Bay Drive
From Sydney CBD, the fastest route runs west on Parramatta Road or the M4 Motorway to Homebush, then south on Homebush Bay Drive to the Sydney Olympic Park precinct — about 25-30 minutes off-peak. From Sydney Airport it's the M5 East and General Holmes Drive via M4 — about 30 minutes. Late mornings and early afternoons on weekends are busiest. Our drivers know the back routes via Concord and Rhodes that bypass the heaviest Show day approach traffic.
Drop-Off Points at Sydney Showground
Sydney Showground has multiple entry gates: Gate A (Olympic Boulevard) is the main pedestrian entrance, Gate B (Murray Rose Avenue) is closest to the livestock pavilions and arena, and Gate D (Australia Avenue) serves the eastern carparks and showbag halls. Tell us which gate at booking and we'll drop you there — direct kerbside, no walking through massive carparks with tired toddlers. Browse our full fleet page or grab a free emailed quote now.
The Fireworks Finale and Post-9pm Pickup
The 8:30-9pm fireworks finale is the Show's signature moment — 20 minutes of pyrotechnics over the main arena to close each show day. Within 30 minutes after fireworks, around 70,000+ visitors try to leave at the same time. Train queues are huge, Uber surge hits 2-4x, and walking to your car can take 25+ minutes. Pre-book your Prime Rider return and the driver waits in the dedicated rideshare zone off Olympic Boulevard — call you the moment they're in position.
