ATMs at Sydney Airport — Where to Find Them
Every Sydney Airport terminal has multiple ATMs. Some are fee-free bank ATMs (CBA, ANZ, NAB, Westpac), others are Travelex / Travelmoney that charge $5–8 per withdrawal. Here's where to find the best ones.

T1 International ATMs
T1 has the most ATMs of any terminal. Bank ATMs (CBA, ANZ, NAB) are located on Level 1 (Arrivals) and Level 2 — these charge no fee for cardholders of those banks. Travelex / Travelmoney ATMs are scattered throughout the terminal — they offer multiple currencies but charge $5–8 per withdrawal and have unfavourable exchange rates.
T2 / T3 Domestic ATMs
Both terminals have CBA and Westpac ATMs near the food courts and arrivals. Fees: free for own bank cardholders, $2.50 surcharge for others.
Tips for International Travellers
- Avoid airport currency exchange counters — rates are 5–10% worse than city counters.
- Wise / Revolut cards work at any Australian bank ATM with mid-market rates and no foreign-exchange margin.
- Withdraw $200–300 max at airport ATMs — better rates available in city ATMs.
Why Travellers Choose Prime Rider for Sydney Airport
Accredited, Not Contracted
Every driver is CPV-accredited and police-checked under a NSW Booking Service Provider authorisation. Not a rideshare account borrowed for the airport run.
Sized for the Luggage
Vehicles are matched to the bags rather than the head count. Four passengers with four checked cases is an SUV, and booking that now beats discovering it at the kerb.
Free Cancellation at 24 Hours
Plans change. Cancel more than 24 hours out at no cost; after the driver has arrived, 50% of the fare applies.

You Do Not Need Cash for the Transfer
Withdrawing airport cash at whatever rate the machine offers is a common first mistake on arrival. For the transfer itself it is unnecessary: payment happens in the vehicle by card through EFTPOS at a 1.8% surcharge, or by PayID at none.
Cash is accepted if you prefer it, and cash carries no surcharge either — but it is a choice rather than a requirement, and nothing at all is charged when you book.
That matters most for international arrivals who have not yet sorted a local account. Book before you fly, and the ground transport is settled without a single ATM decision made under fluorescent light at 6am.
