The pet travels in a carrier, or secured in a pet seatbelt harness. That is a safety requirement rather than a preference — an unrestrained animal in a moving car is a hazard to itself and to everyone else in it, and it is the one condition attached to the booking.
Drivers on these jobs are animal people. In practice that means a calmer drive: no sudden braking, no loud music, and no irritation at a dog that is unsettled because it has never been in this car before. For an anxious animal that is most of the difference.
Vehicles are cleaned between bookings, and an allergy-aware vehicle can be requested where somebody in the party reacts to animal hair. Note it when booking rather than on the day, since it affects which car is assigned.
There is no pet surcharge on a standard booking. The quoted fare is the fare, whether the back seat holds a passenger or a carrier — which is worth knowing before you compare it against a service that charges for the privilege.
